Louise Seamster earned her PhD in Sociology at Duke University in 2016. Her research centers on the interactive financial, and symbolic factors reproducing racial inequality, focusing on urban development, space, and political arrangements. In addition to manuscripts stemming from dissertation research, on urban development and racial politics, Seamster is currently involved in research exploring debt, racial progress, university policy, and black towns.
