Fulbright Scholar Program
The core Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Harry Frank Guggenheim Research Award
The foundation welcomes proposals from all disciplines that promise to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence and aggression. Research that can increase understanding and amelioration of urgent problems of violence and aggression in the modern world are particularly encouraged.

Sociological Initiatives Foundations
The Sociological Initiatives Foundation supports social justice projects with awards from $10,000-$20,000.

Russell Sage Foundation Research Grants
The Foundation supports research on the causes and consequences of various social problems, as well as basic research aimed at improving the methods, data, and theoretical foundation of social science. Awards are restricted to support for basic social science research within their announced programs. Grants range between $35,000 and $500,000 and are mainly awarded to provide support for analyzing data and writing up results.
Deadline: Proposals must be approved by the Foundation Board, which meets in June and November. Unless otherwise specified in the request for proposals in a particular research competition, the deadline for submissions to the November funding round is mid-August, and to the June round is mid-March.
Advancing the Humanities
ACLS offers fellowships and grants in more than a dozen programs for research in the humanities and related social sciences at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels.

Council of American Overseas Research Centers
The CAORC Multi-Country Fellowship Program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars at any career stage who have already earned their Ph.D. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center. Deadline: Jan. 15.

This program supports the participation of U.S. researchers and students in activities intended to catalyze new international collaborations. Deadline: Proposals accepted at any time
IREX Short-Term Travel Grants to Eastern Europe
The Short-Term Travel Grants Program (STG) supports scholars and professionals conducting research in Eastern Europe and Eurasia.
